- The relation between kinetics, reaction networks and reactor performance
- Cascade of reactors / Residence time distribution
- Heat effects and catalyst behaviour in reactor operation
- Application to gas, liquid and solid phase reactions

The student is able to:
- determine the limiting steps in reactors
- predict/calculate the conversion and selectivity
- design & select a chemical reactor
- Prediction of optimal reaction conditions
- extract the kinetics of the reactions from experiments
- use and apply numerical techniques
