Career

The Chemisch Dispuut Leiden (CDL) will organise many career activities this year in collaboration with many different companies. Examples of career-oriented activities are field trips to companies, study trips, case studies, lectures and career dinners. An overview can be found under “upcoming activities”. Good preparation for your career is crucial for finding internships and a future job. We are happy to help you orientate on a job and get in touch with different companies. In addition, we organise various activities throughout the year where you learn how to present yourself in the best possible way at companies.

For companies

The Chemisch Dispuut Leiden (CDL) takes care of the career orientation of its members so that they can form a clear picture of the job market and the many possibilities within it. Examples of career-oriented activities are field trips to companies, study trips, case studies, lectures and career dinners. A large portion of our graduates go on to work in the chemical sector. To introduce students to this sector, the CDL is collaborating with various chemical companies. However, we notice that students are also interested in jobs outside the chemical sector, which is why we also have partnerships with companies outside this sector.

What distinguishes the Molecular Science & Technology (MST) bachelor's degree from other technical-chemistry courses and fundamental-chemistry courses in the Netherlands is the extensive knowledge of both fields. Through the collaboration between Leiden University and the TU Delft, MST students can benefit from both chemical and technical education. Due to the different studies and disciplines and therefore also characters, MST students are well attuned to dealing with different types of people and ways of thinking. All this makes our students very diverse, broadly educated and flexible. Besides MST, the CDL is also the study association of the master Chemistry. This is the follow-up master at Leiden University. Within this master there are four main directions: research, education, business and communication. This wide variety of choices shows that our master students are also very broadly interested and curious. This master is also followed by many international students.
